The Daffodil ‘Misty Glen ‘Narcissi large-cupped a fall planted bulb, beautiful, rich flowering Narcissus. It produces fresh white blooms with a striking white with green centered cup. It is a very good variety for mass display and naturalizing. The blossoms last up to 4 weeks and appear in mid spring. They are great for mass plantings, containers, and borders. Misty Glen bulbs, once planted, can remain in the ground for many years. They will multiply and produce the most abundant flowering results in the 2nd and 3rd year. If necessary, very large clumps of bulbs can be lifted as soon as the leaves wither, and then they can be divided and replanted as soon as possible. Monge Lilac, Syringa vulgaris ‘Monge’ is an outstandingly showy and fragrant French Hybrid Lilac that produces an abundance of red-purple single flowers in May. It is a consistent heavy bloomer and it has the true lilac scent. This upright growing shrub has blue-green foliage that turns purple in the fall. It is easily grown in average, medium moist, well-drained soil in full sun. Monge Lilac tolerates light shade, but best bloom is in full sun. It prefers organically rich, slightly acidic soils with good drainage. Once it is established, it only needs occasional watering. Being very showy and extremely fragrant, it makes a wonderful screen or border specimen. This plant is attractive to bees, butterflies and/or birds. Savory - Summer

The Savory Summer, ‘Satureja hortensis is a highly aromatic plant that tastes like peppery thyme and blends with many flavors. The Summer Savory is a bushy 1. 5 foot tall plant with fine hairy stems. The flowers are pink to violet and appear in mid summer. The leaves are 1 inch long and skinny. The leaves turn purple in late summer to fall. At one time, Summer Savory was thought to increase sex drive and it was a popular plant for this reason alone hundreds of years ago. Summer Savory is primarily used for culinary purposes but it is also considered by some to be antiseptic. Tea from Summer Savory is used for diarrhea, mild sore throat, and stomach aches. This culinary herb is used in many dishes such as all types of beans, lentils, chicken and beef soups, eggplant, asparagus, onions, cabbage, squash, liver and fish. Coleus - Wild Lime

The Coleus Wild Lime, ‘Coleus hybrid has yellow leaves with ruffled dark lime green edges. These new, bigger, sun loving varieties have revolutionized container gardening. The brilliant colors explode in sunny locations. Coleus plants are durable and easy to grow however they are tender annuals. Frost will cause them to die immediately. Coleus plants are so colorful that many people keep them and use them as a house plant. These plants will do best in temperatures above 55 degrees. Flower buds should be pinched off as soon as they develop. If a coleus plant is allowed to seed, it has completed its life cycle and will die. Coleus must have good soil drainage. This plant can also be a perennial in warmer zones.

Coreopsis - Limerock Ruby

The Coreopsis Limerock Ruby has beautiful rosy red, glossy flowers that cover the finely cut foliage. The dark green thread-like foliage makes a great contrast with its flower color, blooming from June through October. Limerock Ruby is extremely drought tolerant with a plant height of 12 and a spread of 23-27. With cool autumn weather, the flowers make an even more outstanding color scheme. Limerock Ruby should be planted in full sun. It is drought-tolerant and tough but does need well-drained soil. It should be cut backing early and late summer to extend the bloom period. Coreopsis Limerock Ruby looks great with any type of grass, in borders or mass plantings in sunny gardens.

Hot Peppers - Hungarian Yellow Wax

The Pepper Hungarian Yellow Wax, ‘Capsicum annuum is a medium-hot Old World favorite that is the perfect pick for pickled peppers. This pepper is also known as the Hot Bananan Pepper. The Hungarian Yellow Wax pepper was developed in Hungary and has a waxy color that resembles bees’ wax. The Wax peppers are actually orange-red when ripe, but are usually pickled while still yellow. Hungarian Yellow Wax peppers have thin walls and the peppers are usually used fresh in salads, pickled, fried, canned or roasted. This pepper is medium hot. Transplant outside in the spring 3 to 4 weeks after last frost date. Note: To get a jump on the season transplant outside, use a walls-of-water or some black plastic to maintain and increase temperatures. Plant in average garden soil with sufficient organic matter. Peppers use quite a bit of water but prefer to be watered deeply and not too often. Harvest when peppers are yellow and 3 to 4 inches long.
