Arugula – Rocket Salad
The Arugula Rocket Salad Roquette, ‘Eruca sativa is one of the most popular “new” greens. The interesting flavor of Arugula will add spunk to any boring salad. Descriptions such as hot with a hint of nut flavor, tart, and spicy are used to describe Arugula. Roquette Arugula is most often eaten raw in salads but is also steamed or added raw to many other dishes, such as pizza. Arugula is a green much like lettuce and is best in cool temperatures. Arugula, when mature, grow to 2 to 3 feet tall, but the leaves are tastiest and less bitter when harvested 2 to 6 inches long. The flowers are white and are also edible. Plant in early spring, 3 to 4 weeks before the last average frost date and plant successive plantings therafter every 3 weeks until first fall frost approaches. Rocket Salad Arugula prefers light, fertile, moist, and well drained soil. In warmer climates, delay planting during the heat of the summer.

Calla Lily – Pink Persuasion
The Calla Lily Pink Persuasion, ‘Zantedeschia a spring planted tuber, produces wonderful dark red flowers with lightly splotched foliage. The flower is trumpet like in form and has a waxy texture. Calla Lilies are also know as pig lilies. The Calla Lily has sword-shaped leaves which are formed at the end of celery-like stalks. The leaves are heart-shaped and are a rich, dark green color that may be speckled. The Calla Lilly makes an excellent cut flower and are great container plants.

Iris – Siberian – Regency Belle
The Siberian Iris Regency Belle, ‘Iris displays deep violet-blue blooms with white edging. One of the most easily grown Iris, it originated from Northern Asia, and does well in all types of weather conditions. This iris is best grown in a humus soil. Originally available only in violet purple, we now offer many other colors which have the same fine naturalizing habits. Siberian Iris are elegant, easy to grow, and make stunning cut flowers. They thrive in almost every garden environment. They prefer wet soils at the margins of ponds, and are hardy even in the coldest areas. Use to prevent erosion on difficult banks or provide handsome vertical accents in the border. They are graceful when established in broad drifts in an open area. Planted in groups of 3 or more, they will eventually form large clumps.
