Iris – Tiger Honey

The Iris Tiger Honey, Iris x germanica ‘Tiger Honey’ is a fragrant reblooming bearded iris that has yellow flowers with streaks of white in the petals. With a velvety texture and beautiful sword-shaped foliage, it has a plant height of 32. Tiger Honey blooms in the spring and then again in the fall. It prefers average, well-drained soil. Tiger Honey prefers full sun, but will tolerate a little afternoon shade. It will make a great addition around pools, ponds and water gardens, and for mass plantings. It can also be used in difficult banks and preventing erosion. They also make magnificent cut flowers and are resistant to deer.

Begonia – Pendula – Yellow

The Begonia Pendula Yellow, ‘Begonia a spring planted tuber, displays multitudes of beautiful yellow flowers. Pendula Begonias, sometimes called basket begonias, have smaller flowers than upright begonias, but what they lack in size they make up by producing great numbers of blooms. They are absolutely gorgeous in hanging baskets and they last for many months. Pendula Begonias need protection from sun, rain and wind. They also require more water than other begonias. Weekly light fertilization will also assist in keeping the blooms healthy and vibrant. Pendula Begonias cannot dry out when they are in full bloom, daily watering, or twice daily watering in very warm weather may be needed.

Thyme – Mother of Thyme

The Thyme ‘Thymus Mother of Thyme, Thymus serpyllum, is a fast growing evergreen, ground cover with sweet aroma. Pink to purple blossoms appear in the summer, with a plant height of 8 and a spread of 12-24. Mother of Thyme should be planted in full sun, tolerating some morning shade, in a well-drained area. It does well in dry soils, but prefers a moist location. Mother of Thyme is perfect for rock gardens, near stones or bricks, or along pathways. It is a favorite to honeybees and has been used in decongestants, as an antiseptic, cough remedy and a digestive aid.
