Spirea – Billiard

Billiard Spirea, spiraea x billiardi, has an unusual flower form, with stamens twice as long as the petals. The rose colored blossoms occur in narrow, dense plumes from June to August. It has a tendency to sucker that would make it useful for embankments. It grows 6 feet tall and 4 feet in width. It is among the easiest flowering shrubs to grow since it is tolerant of many soils, except extremely wet. The plant also likes mulch and summer watering and prefers full sun to partial shade. Billiard would be great for mass or groupings, screens or border shrubs.

The Asiatic Hybrid Lily Connecticut King, ‘Lillium a spring planted bulb, produces dark yellow flowers. Asiatic Lilies are great for borders, beds, and containers. They prefer well drained soil and they will multiply each year. Allow the leaves on the stalk to turn yellow and fall off to provide the bulb with ample nourishment for the next growing year. Asiatic Hybrids are the first lilies to bloom each season and the blooms are long lasting in the garden and in bouquets.

Tulip – Darwin Hybrid – Golden Oxford

The Tulip ‘Golden Oxford ‘Tulipa darwin hybrid is a fall planted bulb. This brilliant yellow tulip has large, perfectly shaped, long-lasting blooms atop thick, sturdy stems. They make beautiful bouquets. For a show-stopping attraction in your garden, plant tulips in a group of 25 to 50. This tulip will also multiply year after year. These tulips bloom in mid spring for a 3 week period. For the best effects, plant the bulbs in clusters of 5 to 15 bulbs of one variety, or scatter clusters throughout the garden or flower border. Tulips do best in well-drained soil. It is advisable not to plant tulips in the same location in the garden year after year. If possible, plant in a somewhat sheltered location. These tulips are excellent for warmer climatic zones. Tulips are excellent for mass planting, cut flowers, and borders.
