No, Kids, I’m Not Always Fair!
As my children enter that delightful stage where they fight over all sorts of random little things, the time also comes when I have to ponder issues of what’s fair. Kids are great at pointing out when things are unfair. On the other hand, I don’t want to overdo it. I can still remember as a [...]

Want to know how I got my start?

I've been asked many times how I learned about working at home. I was one of the lucky ones. I learned about medical transcription from my older sister, who helped me to get training and land my first job. I worked as a transcriptionist for about three years. The number of times I had other moms ask me how to get into that field eventually inspired this website.

No, this site was not an overnight success. It took over two years to build this site to where I could quit transcribing and work solely on this and my other websites. Over time, I found that more of my visitors were interested in stay at home parenting topics and work at home jobs, so I spun off the home business section to a new website. I still go over some of the basics of home business here, but the other site goes into more detail on a wider range of home businesses.

Want to keep up with things on this site and get fresh articles on being a stay at home or work at home parent? Subscribe to the newsletter! It includes what's new on the site, letter from the editor, articles on working at home, saving money, work at home business and more. Get information on products and services that may interest you as a stay or work at home parent, as well as advice on coping with issues you may face.
